I am using Mac OS 9.0, Quark 4.11. My F-keys are not functioning in Quark. I know there is an extension or something I can get to activate them. Does anyone know about this problem? What do I have to do or what do I need to get to activate the F-keys in QUark? Thanks.

You need to play around with the keyboard settings in control panels! There is a check option in there. Had the same problem when I first started using Quark under 9.1. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

Hi Bencook,

To use the Function Keys in QuarkXPress or any other application you need to press the option key on the keyboard. To enable this function go to the Keyboard settings and click on Function Keys button and check the box which says "Use F1 through F15 as Hot Function Keys".

Just make sure that whenever you want to use the Function Keys while working in any Application you have the Option Key pressed.

Hope this helps.

well if u want to use application specfic f-keys then u need to use the option key+F-key.
if u dont want to use the option key then u got to disable or uncheck the hot function key option from ur keyboard settings in the control panel.
