I'd like to be able to drop PDFs into Quark. I downloaded an extension from the Quark site that's supposed tolet me do just that but, after following the instructions, can't see it in Extensions Manager and don't know if I've installed it properly. I can't find anything in the Quark manual on it. Quark v 4.11.
Thanks for your help!

The PDF extension allows you to import and export PDFs. Be sure you have the right version, since Quark is now also supplying some Xtensions for version 5 and they might not all be compatible. When you have it, drop it into your XTensions folder and restart Quark. You should then be able to import PDFs into Picture boxes. (To export PDFs, you will need to have Adobe Distiller properly installed as well.)

If, after all that, things don't work properly, check back again and we'll troubleshoot.

Hi Babatank,

Well Baba, you just need to make sure that you install the XTension in the following location :

QuarkXPress folder> XTensions folder.

Once you install the XTension in the XTensions folder located in the QuarkXPress folder, you should be able to see the XTemsion in the XTensions Manager.

Hope this helps.

Well, if u can't see the xtension in the xtension manager that means it is either not installed properly or is de-activated. check this out and make sure u installed the xtension in the quark xtension folder.
u can also manually place the xtension in the xtension folder.
the other work-around u can follow is (if u have the distiller with u) t make a .ps file. to make a .ps file u need postscript printer/driver and make sure the settings in the print dialog box is set to "print to file".
save the file with .ps extension and print it.
u will get the ,ps file.
open this file in the distiller and u will get the required .pdf file.

hope this help..
