I have had a big problem that I hope someone can help me with. I was working on a ~20-page file in Quark 5 for the Mac (9.2.2). After having made quite a few edits, suddenly all the text on the page took on a "highlighted" look and Quark froze.

I restarted, and when I went back to the document, it was BLANK. Just a Quark window with no file in it if you know what I mean.

Not happy. I checked Norton restore to find the most previous version of the document and it too is blank.

However, when I do an "open file" and click on that file name, the preview shows that there is still text in the file.

Can anyone tell me how I might be able to restore this file?

Thx

The preview means nothing but a previously saved bitmap image of your document.

This is not recoverable.

When you say
Quark window with no file in it
do you mean taht when you open the document you it appears as if you have just opened Quark?
Or do you mean that you see the pages of your document but they are empty?

If it's the former, then try going to View>Windows>Tile Documents (then switch it back to "stack documents")

I have seen similar behavior in 4.11 before and doing this brought the window back from wherever it had gone.
