quark booklet to pdf for printer problem

Ok Someone asked a similar question but I'm not sure this helps me. I have booklet that needs to be exported as a pdf for printer to use to print frrom. On that note, what do i do about the first page which sits alone but should really have a facing page to the left of it. All the pages are numbered accordingly.
I would like to give printer in one pdf document front and back cover facing each other with all other pages in booklet facing each other. I don't want that one first blank page up top. What do i do?

First when setting up the initial document don't use "Facing Pages" I can't stand them and have not found a way to turn them off in Quark.

On you problem you can add a blank page as the first page then set the rest of your pages accordingly. After the pdf is made if you have the full version of Acrobat you can just delete the first page. If not type on it in Quark "DON'T PRINT THIS PAGE" the printer will understand. then make your pdf set up in spreads. make sure you have it set up in "Printer Spreads" rather then "Readers Spreads" for the printer. if you have your book set up in readers spreads then just make the pdf as is and the printer can easily place each page where they need to go for printers spreads.

You can also drag your back cover page to the left of your front cover page in the Page Layout pallette, so that they're both on the right half of your facing pages.
