Hello,

Occassionally I open a document saved as a Quark 4 file and, after telling me that the file needs repairs, Quark randomly inserts blank pages at the end of linked text chains. Since I'm working with long books, I'd rather not have to go in and delete these pages.

I've checked the Quark tech-notes page and haven't been able to find any mention of this problem. Any ideas?

Thanks.

If you have automatic text box on, then it will continue to add the extra page until you make more room on the last page for the text box, or delete the last return.

Thanks for that response. I'm not sure I made my problem clear though.

This is not a simple case of overflowed text. In all cases the Quark 4 document did not have any overflow and thus no pages added. However, when the document is opened in Quark 6, the pages are then added. Sometimes I can close and re-open the document, and the extra pages are blessedly not there. As far as I can tell, it seems random and does not correspond to overflow. I think it must be some sort of bug.
