Quark 5.0 get black boxes when printing

Hello,

I am new to Quark. I installed quark 5.o in an xp machine, tried to open a file created in a imac 9.2
It opened fine, but when I print, I get black boxes in stead of my regular pictures. I looked arround the settings and cannot figure out what is going on, I deleted the pictures and put them back, still the same when I print.

What format are your pictures? Do they all print the same way? What are your print settings? What kind of printer (PostScript or PCL)? Do the pictures open normally in a photo editing application on the Windows computer?

they are jpg,the printer is a xerox work color center pro40
What do you mean by printer settings 81/2 x 11 color, I can print from other programs like illustrator or photoshop, jut with quark it does not seem to like the pictures. Yes the pics open normally with any other program

You may need to resave the pictures as eps or tif with a windows preview. Also, check to make sure you are not printing low res in quarks print dialog box.
