For a Q-sig with a Nortel Meridian in the USA, do i need a T1 card or an E1 card ?

We use in EU normaly E1 but in USA is normaly T1 not....

Greets Peter

I think you'll need a T1, otherwise there has to be converted.

So if the other side already has a T1 then the IPO need a T1 card, otherwise the Nortel needs an E1 but it's the easiest way to keep them the same.

Peter with the ip500 and the universal pri card you can set what you want so you do not need to choose !!!
Only question is, do you have an ip500 ?

Other thing to consider is why choosing qsig is qsig

ACA - Implement IP Office
ACS - Implement IP Office
ACA - Implement IP Telephony
ACA - Voice Services Management

qsig will cost a lot more too - networking license and E1 card. SIP would be easier and cheaper.

Good point tlpeter now i can send an IPO 500 from heren, i wanted to send one from a partner in USA, but like more to program it heren and send it over....

Powersupply is from 100V/240V so shouldent be a problem.

I want to use a Q-sig trunk with 20 channels.

What licene do i need fot T1...

Are the first 8 channels enabled with the T1 and need 12 more with licence?

Greets Peter

If you send a IPO from the EU then the smart card will be a A-Law type, in the US they use Mu-Law.
Buy a smartcard in the US...

Or, even better, replace the Nortel. Avaya has some nice actions right now for beating the Nortel platform.

He Cor,

I have a Mu-law smart card......

The Nortel is to Big to replace, but i love to go there.
Maby next year if this will work ;<)
