Friday my computer was just fine, now it is Monday and it is not booting. I am getting this strange (to me) error message.

CLIENT MAC ADDR: 00 E0 4C 8101808B GUID FFFFFFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF
PXE-E53: No boot filename recieved

PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

i made a boot up disk and it did not work unless it was corrupted or something, who knows.
Any one knows what this is all about. Man it would be greatly apprecitated!!

Hi natedeia;

This is caused by the system trying to do a remote boot. A request is made to the Windows RIS server for a boot file and is not reveiving it. What type of environment are you running in? Large network??

no it is really small, like 8 pc's. the administrator wants to come in and reinstall 2000, but i am going to lose files that i need. any way to not have this happen?
i made a boot up disk in System Tools under back up. Is that the right way to make a boot disk in 2000? I am not a pro but that disk did not work.

Before I reinstall W2K I would try a new network card. Its fast and cheap. If you do a reinstall try a repair install.

To make a boot disk you will need to go to another PC. On the W2K CD there is a directory called 'BOOTDISK' From there run makeboot. You will need 4 formatted floppys.
