Puzzled! Excel Import Error

Hi All
I am having a problem importing a text file into Excel that has either +avg or -avg as value. When MS Excel opens the text file with +avg or -avg as value, it places "#NAME?" error and try to convert the values to a formula (=-avg or =+avg). Is there any way of preventing Excel to convert the values into formula and getting rid of the error?

Edit/Replace

replace -Avg
with =-Average
