Hey, just a quickie. I have a variable as a string, say 'variable1' and I want to retrieve it from a file. Normally I'd type pathname.variablename to get it out but how do I accomplish that using my variable? THanks -- Thom

Your question doesn't make any sense. You can't do that with a string or a file handle.
