Hi all,

I got one basic question. I'm "pushing" appz (.msi) by the domain policies software deployement.

All the domain is ruuning WinXP exept 4 workstation using Win2000 because of incompatibility software.

I want to keep all workstation on the network up to date. I'm also using SUS for the update.

But for the servcie pack, I need to "push" them via domain policies. So if I link the WinXP Service pack to all computers on the domain, I'm affraid that the Win2000 computers will have error on next startup ...

How can I push Win2000 and WinXP service via the same policies ?

Iz there any way to set a kind of autodetect the OS and install the good service pack ?

Thanks again all...

Hey!

Try this: Open up GPO, then select published/assigned software package, right click on it and press properties. Now click on Security tab and select which users have permission to access this package (either Win2k users or WinXP users) and deny access to other users (if you gave permission to win2k users, disable winxp users and vice versa).

I hope this helps

Yeah can be a way to do it ...
But when you have like 70 users, it can be long to do ...

But ill check it out, maybe I can create groups and ...

Thanks for the hint.
