I've got a request I'm not sure the Definity can handle.

We're installing a gas meter which the gas company can dial into....they have requested the line allow for pulse dialing.

Is this something the Definity can do on an analog port? Or do I have to install a dedicated line to this?

TIA,
Steve

If the gas company is dialing into your meter via a modem is there any reason for pulse dialing or will the modem dial out to them.

Hello Steve,

You can change the station type to "K2500" for pulse-dialing. It supports both pulse & tone.
But I agree with Yimmer that for dialing IN, this is absolutely irrelevant, but I guess the box can/will also dial out, or there wouldn't be much use in them asking for it...
(If the device doesn't recognize the dial-tone, you can also make the station "hotdial" the ARS code, so it will allways get secondary dialtone, wich often sounds more like the "real" public dialtone.)

Cheers,
Nico
