We are a service bureau, that gets spot color and 4 color process Microsoft Publisher 2002 documents supplied to us. (Let's say it is a 5 color job.)
Our problem is that we are a Creo-based service bureau. We need to rip composite files.
When our clients give us docs that have both spot and process colors in them, we are having trouble with the color breakout at our rip.
Any illustrator and photoshop spot color graphics break out correctly. But any spot colors that are actually created in the publisher document do not, they break out into process.
What do we need to do in order to fix this? Any workarounds. Our solution right now is to run the job as color separations and merge them together at our rip so we can trap the file for the client.
