With Oracle 9.2.0.6 on Solaris 8 which schema objects other than tables can a Public Synonym be created for?

I'd like to know if other common schema objects (Seqeunces, Triggers, Functions, Packages, Indexes) can have a Public Synonym[/blue]

Yes, Michael, you can CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYMs for each of the object types you mention.
