Public mailbox

I want to create a public mailbox that can be accessed by certain people. I have tried one way by creating a mail enabled public folder but this didn't work because I the administrator was the only one who could successfully send to it (despite setting the correct permissions...).

Any ideas anyone?

What permissions did you set?

I gave each person Author rights.

When people try to send to this address they get an error saying the email address doesn't exist in the organisation eventhough if I send to the same address it sends ok.

You need anonymous write permissions.

Well, anonymous has contributot permissions which is the same as write....
