Public Folder Store reached its maximum size

Exchange 2003 standard with sp2.
Public folder store keeps on dismounting. Investigated event log and found the following error:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: ESE
Event Category: Space Management
Event ID: 445
Description: Information Store (4436) The database D:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA\priv1.edb has reached its maximum size of 16383 MB. If the database cannot be restarted, an offline defragmentation may be performed to reduce its size.

Now, i cannot get into any of the public folders to clean up. Error: "HTTP 1.1/ 503 Service is no longer available" occurs

As you have SP2 you can go all the way upto 75GB!!

reinstalled exchange SP2 which fixed things.
