Dear All,
A user has removed a folder in the Public Folders and I can't seem to restore it. With normal user accounts you can use the recover items option in the Outlook client but this doesn't seem to work with Public Folders.
I preferably don't want to restore the whole lot from backup tape (Public folders don't do a brick level backup).. does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

Best regards

You should be able to recover a deleted public folder in the same manner you can recover a deleted message. But.. (there's always a but...)... you must have the retention time set on your public folders and you must be within that retention time.

You can restore the folder by simply clicking on the parent folder of the currently missing (deleted) folder and do Tool (in Outlook) and Recover Delete Items.

If you missed it, then I'm afraid that the only way I know of is to restore your database. You can mount a test exchange server and load your public folders from there and then simply extract (to a .PST) the folder you need to then import it back to the live one.

Thanks RedLefty
Do you know if it possible to extract the edb and stm files only and mount these files only on a test server?
