Public Folder replication

I am new with MS exchange. I am currently planning migrating to Exchange 2003 from Exchange 2000. I created few test accounts and moved over to the new Exchange 2003 server. I also replicated public folders to the new exchange 2003 server public store (Now we have two replicas one to the old 2000 exchange server public store, and one to the new exchange server 2003 public store). My supervisor wants take out replication to the new public store located in the new Exchange 2003. My questions are: Will I have any problems by removing replication to the new exchange 2003 server public folder store? The same with the Free Busy schedule data & Off line address list?
Later if my supervisor decides to replicate public folder to the previous exchange 2003 public store, Will I get any problems of doing that? Any suggestions?

When you break the replication you will want to specify which server is the master for the public folder. So, if you are doing away with the old server, set the master for it as the new server and then break the replication. You will then be able to safely remove the old server once you have migrated all of the resources off of it and redirected your MX record or changed NAT accordingly.

Thanks for your post! I believe I have not change any role for my for the public folder. For now, I am doing away with my new server since we want to perform more test on the new exchange 2003 server (So it will not effect production server which is a WD2000) before we migrate accounts to the it. By the way how do I find out which server is the Master role for the public folder?

In Exchange 2003, every folder that has a replica of a PF is an owner of the folder (true multi-master). If you're still sharing the org with 5.5 servers, they still think only one server is the home server, so check it by looking at the properties of the PF in 5.5 admin. The General tab will show you the home server, and the Advanced tab will allow you to change the home server (to the 2K3 server if your replication and ADC with its public CA is set up correctly).
