I am having a bit of a nightmare. I can not delete "test" public folders even when I am logged in on the server as an Administrator, with owner rights on the folder.
I created a test contacts area as myself, I went to delete the contacts and could not even though I had ownership permissions, odd I thought. I then went into Outlook as the administrator on the domain/server and after checking the permissions, owner, could not delete the folder. I then removed all users other than the Administrator with owner rights and tried to delete the folder and I can not................
Can all that, I have managed somehow delete the folders and blag getting the diary and contacts back into the public folders. The only way to enable everyone to see the contacts and folders has been to individually set the permissions on each folder, ie set the default to editor/author etc as opposed to none - is none the default and therefore I have done it the right way?? There must surely be an easier way than this.
Does any have any comprehensive documentation on using public folders within Exchange. I have had enough for a life time and hope to be able to cut out the "chaff" by asking for recommendations here - whats useful to read. I am hoping that the permissions stay intact.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers
