I'm trying to set up a public calendar for booking conference rooms and the like. I'll explain how I've done it with Groupwise, and perhaps someone can tell me how with Exchange...
First, create a resource (user) called "Conference" (for example). Optionally set the owner to be the person responsible for it.
Then open the resource via proxy access and set rules, like "Accept all non-conflicting appointments" and "Reject conflicts, and reply to the sender that there's a conflict".
Also grant full proxy access to those responsible for maintaining the calendar who might need to update it manually. Finally, grant view-only proxy access as the default so everyone can view it.
Some of this I have working with Exchange. However, appointments are only accepted when read (which won't work since no one named "Conference" is actually running Outlook). Also the auto-rejection isn't working for conflicting appointments. Is there good documentation on this functionality somewhere?
Thanks.
