Proxyserver forward autentication.

Is it possible to have som proxyserver to add usernameassword to a http-address so I dont need to write '

http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@www.aaa.bb'

to login to the site? Need it for a special application that can't handle autentication.

i believe you can use squid to do this, or even apache ...

couldn't tell you how exactly, off the top of my head.

however, with MS stopping the use of userass in the URLs of IE, there might well be a chance that sites will stop using that syntax.
