if you have a pri, both the carrier and the 81 will both need a d channel..do you have one in your switch to look at? ld 22 prt adan...you'll see all your tty's aml's and d channels... ld 96 stat dch will show you their status...you print d's in 22 and add then in ld 17, chg, adan, new dch x.. you'll need to know where in the switch your card is now, and what loop your going to use as well as device number, a switch setting on the card, and the type of equiptment you connecting to. once you get that info it goes in in a matter of minutes
I waiting on a new dual T-1 card with daugher board. This will ultimatly be set up for a PTP simulation. I am having about 12 channels stripped off of a WAN connection through a Cisco router to my PBX. I know currently the exisiting WAN T-1 is a 24 channel T-1 with no D channel signaling, I believe the centralized voicemail/4 digit dialing needs the D channel siganling aND figured I could just provide that off of the PBX.
the daughter board will provide up to 2 new dchannels.. the d used for the mail will remain to be used just for the mail. you'll need to locate a vacant device number, before you plug it in. that assigns interrupt..conflicts are resolved by the switch turning itself off...unlike the wan t1, you'll need to program the card in the switch, the d channel, then the route data block and then the trunks.. cisco makes it easy for the basics, merridian will not let you do the copy and paste off of a working unit..
