Hi Folks

I run my development server on my home computer which has a static IP that just shows whatever site I've got set up on the server - usually I don't care if people can see my websites that I'm developing, but if I did, how do I get it so that when you try to access my Ip it asks for a password before letting you in?

I'm sure this is simple, but I'm sick of dealing with permissions, so I jsut thought I'd straight out ask... Thanks

Ben

Depends on the webserver. .htaccess works. You could also use active server page, perl, or javascript to create a password protected site. Actually there are tons of ways. John D. Saucier

The simplist way would be to disable anonymous access. Open IIS, got your website.. right click.. hit properties.. then under the Directory security tab.. hit edit.. uncheck anonymous access... hit ok.. now u're all set :-)

Hope this helped..
