IS-IT--Management
I have received a complaint from my client
that he is experiencing email delays from several
recipients (no particular domains). Delays
happen for both sent and received emails.
The client has Exchange 5.5/Outlook/NT 4.0 and
they are using the ISP mail server
to store and forward. ISP maintains the MX record
for DNS.
The ISP says there are no problems at his side.
Questions:
1. What are the ways to monitor the time taken
for emails to travel from client exchange to the
recipients's mail server?
2. Is there a way to check if the email has reached
the recipient's mail server? I need a delivery
confirmation (not a read receipt).
Return receipts are not helpful as they are controlled by
the receiver. He may opt not to send them.
There are some companies offering services delivery/read confirmation, which require mails
going thru their web site. ( etc.)
I do not want company mails to go thru some other web sites.
Please let me have any inputs and pointers.
Thanks in advance.
