proliant 3000 and smartstart 7.10

I have purchased a couple of proliant 3000's with dual pIII 550, 768 mb ram, and 10 9.1 gb hds. I downloaded smartstart 7.10 and corresponding firmware and software iso's. When I try to boot to smartstart, I get a "server does not support smartstart" error message.
Do I need an older smartstart version, or am I missing something? This is my first venture into the compaq proliant territory, so any help in the matter will be greately appreciated.

You will probably need SmartStart v5.5 for a Proliant 3000.

You need SmartStart 5.50 (or earlier?).
