I have a new optima projector. is there a way to configure xp to power off the projector when not in use? I dont want to use the remote.

This comes from an IBM site and I quote...

" "Waking up" the projector
Some projectors have power-saving states similar to a computer's sleep mode. Usually there is a button on top of your projector to enable or disable this state. Consult your projector's documentation if you need to "wake up" your projector."

it's literally a projector with bulb..... not a lcd or other flatscreen?

If its a monitor in all sence of the word, you can go to the desktop-right click-select properties-screen saver tab-power button and select the power management of the monitor.

If it is a literal projecor... I have a few projectors that run their own software and you can use their configurations... but the question is, does your projector have this sort of feature?
