Project Manager Window in VFP 9

I'm still having problems with the Project Manager window not staying where I put it, or how I resize it in VFP9. Every time I start VFP9 or open the project manager window it defaults to it's default size and position.

I'm using a FoxUser.dbf resource file in the same directory in which I start VFP9, and it seems to save my other resource information, like my code windows, etc.

I'm not having any problem with VFP7 or VFP8.

Any idea what could be going on here?

Thanks.

You've probably got a "RESOURCE=OFF" setting in the config.fpw where you start VFP.

Loose the RESOURCE=OFF setting and the settings are stored in the foxuser.dbf and foxuser.dbt files.

No, I've already checked that and there was no setting at all for resource in the config.fpw.

Even when I added RESOURCE=ON it made no difference.

When I expand the any of the tabs, like a database [+] that stays expanded. It's just the window size and position that isn't saved.

Thanks.

Try forcing by using SET RESOURCE TO c:\foxuser.dbf (or whatever your path is).

On my work machine Win2000.
I tried:
set resource off
set resource to E:\FoxFile90\RemoteViews\foxuser.dbf
set resouce on

No change. The position and size isn't saved.

I've checked all the Tools/Options/File locations, Projects, etc. and everything looks all right.

I've even used a brand new FoxUser.dbf. Still no fix.

I have the same problem at home on my WinXPHome machine.

It's only a VFP9 problem. VFP6, 7, 8 has no problem. It's driving me nuts. Maybe I should move a VFP 8 resource to that directory and see what happens.

Maybe it has something to do with the way VFP9 was installed.

Maybe there's some conflict with my VS .NET install.

Maybe it's the aliens who are always bugging me for new reports. <g>

Thanks.

Problem solved.

I had to contact Microsoft, and after a few days of trying to figure it out, it turns out that the problem had to do with the Tools/Options/IDE tab.

In the 'Specify file/window', 'Type:', 'Override individual settings' should be unchecked for 'Projects' and 'Browse', otherwise the positions and sizes of the windows won't be saved in the resource file.

Apparently when I installed VFP9 for the first time, instead of setting only certain types, I set all of them to 'Override'. This is what I did in VFP 7 & 8; except 'Projects' doesn't exist there, and I never changed the 'Browse' setting.

Thanks to Grant Suddreth at Microsoft for helping me out on this one.

Hope this helps someone else out there.
