I'm trying to set up an ODBC connection to my Progress database so that I can use Crystal Report 8.5

I've installed openlink for progress, but am not getting specific enough directions to actually connect to the database.

Please don't tell me to upgrade my Progress. I can't. My company is determined to stay in the stone ages and this is all I have to work with.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi There.

I am actually doing something similar. I am truying to setup the odbc driver so i can use MSACCESS to attach to the same version of Progress.

I am using the opennlink driver as well.

check this info out and see if it helps. i have not tried it yet, but I have been researching now for over a week to get this to work. I even spent an our on the phone with OpenLink today to work it through and we were not successful. See Below.

Both 32 bit OpenLink drivers require the 32 bit Embedded SQL DLL from Progress Version 8.2 to be installed in the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. (or \WINNT\SYSTEM32 for Windows NT) The OpenLink Web Site erroneously states this file is shipped with their driver. If you have a Progress 32 bit version installed, it can be copied from the DLC "bin" subdirectory.
