programs run ok and then freeze

Hello guys,

I notice something strange on my sofware. It work ok when running in O/S Like Windows 9X, DOS or NT. Il windows 98 sometimes it froze and the result is the letter "R" on the keyboard when pressed, close the application windows and open the "Run Windows" (Start-->RUN). Even if i go back into the working application if i repress the "R" letter if popup the Run windows Again. Have to reboot the machine to correct the situation. i dont know why ??

when this happens to me, I usualy minimize the screen, and open couple of dos sessions, and then close them. It works most of the time, and I don't know why it works!!!

You may want to clean your keyboard. The Window key + 'R' brings up the run command window. It happened to me a few times and cleared up when I removed the keyboard cover and blew the junk out from between the keys.

I've had the same thing, it's like you have the Window key stuck down or in a locked mode. In case you don't know, if you hold the Window key down and press:
E you get Explorer
F Find (Ctrl+F get Find Computer)
R Run
Pause System Properties
There are some others but these I find most useful.

It seems to be caused by pressing the Window key while in a DOS app and then canceling the resultant menu. If you Press the Window key and load Notepad or some other Windows based programme then it usually goes away. This occured in 95 and 98, good to see Microsoft are consistent.
