The person who handles our definity audix box was laid off a while back, so we had to end up supporting it, but we know nothing of it. We would call avaya for literally everything. from changing extensions to setting up voice mails.. however, I managed to play around with it and figure that stuff out, however, I'm wondering if theres an option to assign speed dials to my phone. i have 12 buttons on the side of my phone and it seems like its suppose to be programmable. Anyone ever do such a thing?

You have several options hear. On the vacant buttons you can add "auto-dial". To do this issue the command "change station XXXX (X=your extension). Arrow down to the button you want to program. Type in auto-dial hit the tab key and typ in the number you want the system to dial (9+telephone number). You can also build a personal abbreviated-dial list. To do this issue the command "change abbreviated-dialing personal XXXX. You can change the numbers available to you. The default is 5 numbers and depending on the level of software you can change it to???? arrow down to each number and add the number to be dialed. On your station you can either add these to buttons or dial the system feature cade to reach these numbers.

Change sta xxx. (your sta)
scroll down to where you see abbreviated dialing list 1, list2, list 3
change this field for list 1, list 2, list 3
(Personal, group, system) Populate this file.
for your phone use list 1 as personal. You are finished here for now.

do a, add abb pers xxx (your sta)
system will change forms.
you will have a choice of 5-10, change to 10.
in each of these fields place the number (ex)95551212
input all your numbers with a leading 9

do a cha sta xxx (your sta)
scroll down to where you see the button assignments.

type in "abrv-dial" (list___)which will be 1
DC:____which will be from 1 to 0 "from form where you added numbers"

on these buttons I have described is for outside calls.
If you want an internal sta type in "busy indicator"
then input the station you want to call or see.

Is there a way to add personal abbriviation number via a phone instead of through ASA or DSA?

If you assign the user an "abr-prog" button on their phone, they will be able to press that button to program any of their speed dial buttons. The display will walk them through it.
