Hi All,

I have intalled a couple IP offices 406v2 and assisted with Moves and changes on a couple more, but am still a newbe with the IPOffice systems. I currently have manager 7.0 (26)on my laptop.

A friend of mine's company closed and he gave me his phone system. I would like to reuse this in my home office if I can get it programmed. I obtained the IP address for this system from the hex number off the serial port

My question is, how do I program this IPO500v2? I cant seem to see it with the current version of manager I have. Do I need something else to get started with this?

Thanks!

Joe

500V2 will be on R6 minimum. Your manager is for R5. Download a new admin suite from avayas site and you'll be on your way.

Hmm, When you say R6, what does this mean? My current laptop is running 7.0(26). I know that the SW is two release higher then the system, (I think). So, this is where I get confused. Can you be a little more specific for a rookie?

Thanks so much!

Joe

If you can obtain the IP Address from the HEX boot value (via serial cable) convert to an IP Address/ configure your PC on the same sub net but different IP address use manager to access the system.
If the default username Administrator/Administrator don't work you will need to reset the security settings back to default via the DTE port.

your mananger is 7.0 which means version 5 IPO (dont ask!)

your newly aquired IPO is rel 7 which means manager version 9.0

download

ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/SoftwarePub/7_0GA_Builds/ADMIN/ADMIN7_0_27.exe

upgrade manager

if you have VM Pro licences download:

ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/SoftwarePub/7_0GA_Builds/VMPRO/VMPRO7_0_28.exe

and install that on a good working pc / server

OK, Thanks for this. I installed 8.0 (8), but didnt help. I was afraid I would loose connectivity with my two 406's with this version but fortunately, did not. I'll get the 9 and try again.

you would probably be best to download the V8.0 Admin suite (Manager V10) so you are able to connect to all current systems

If you are having difficulty connecting there is probably something wrong with you network set-up
You could always default the unit by rebuilding the SD Card but you would then loose any licences (although those can be re obtained via your BP)

you could also open the config file on the SD card off-line in manager so you have a backup before you start.

This project will be a very good learning exorcise & worth its weight in gold in the long run, good luck.

Thanks Guru,
