For all the years I have installed T1 service, I have always programmed trunk parameters, trunk type (in/out)
as wink/wink or wink/start. In setting up a call center
with 5 T1 circuits, I need to have more control over nite service and incoming destination. I see that If these were set up as Auto....I would possibly have the ability to populate the incoming destimnation and nite field.....
Am I looking at this wrong...Is there a deteriation in service with Auto? I do not have vectoring or even understand vectoring..so this is no help. It there any other solutions I might look at.

How are most T1 circuits set up.

Serching for ideas???

Most T-1 are set to accept digits that are feed into the pbx where the routing is done. Then if u need to set up a night service u could do it on the hunt group night destination, or other ways.
What kind and version of pbx are u working on?
Are u setting it up as Auto/auto?
Is this ISdn?

PBX is Definity G3v1, T1 trunks are now set up as Wink/wink
The only way I can control Incoming destination and nite service is through Listed directory number form.

Can someone explain Auto/Auto?

Auto/Auto tells you how the signaling bits behave. wink wink means the pbx waits for a wink before sending digits.
Auto/auto means that the signaling information will be exchanged reguardless of whether or not a wink was exchanged between the pbx and the network. In my opinion the wink wink method is the best because you only transmit information after a successful wink.

Twofeathers, you have more control then you may think.
As long as you set these up in a trunk group (which you could break into several) You can send the calls to a ext
weather its a terminating ext group, a hunt group or a staion.
Now on top of this you can also have your carier send you specific digits as to what ext it should go to.
