Our users have roaming profiles (2000 AD + XP Pro), everything has been working well. Recently I have been having lots of complaints of missing folders, I look in the profiles share and there is the "missing" folder, only it has the hidden attribute. Now to make things that much more stranger, some of the folders I am able to remove the hidden attribute, others are grayed out and I can't; But I can open the folder copy the contents to a new folder.

I have no idea whats going on, any ideas?

TIA

If the attribute is greyed out then the setting could be coming from a parent folder, so maybe worth investigating if it is filtering down from somewhere.

If you want to quickly change the attribute you may want to use the command line ATTRIB -H /S (need to test beforehand).

If you are still experiencing problems have a look at using CACLS to change the permissions granting home user folder owner rights to their respective folder. I would test using CACLS before using on a live file structure as you can do damage very easily. Though i am not sure how relevant CACLS is here to be honest.
