Hi all,

I have recently inherited a extremly poorly set up WIN2K server running around 20 clients, it has many problems that I am in the process of ironing out.

Every time I reboot the server when uninstalling apps and making changes the profile seems to 'reset' itself i.e all the explorer settings return to default etc. also the quicklaunch toolbar does not exist and cannot be created, this annoys me.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Cheers,

Hads.

Okay, this is more bizzare than I thought...

If you log in as administrator and delete my account, then log back in as myself everything seems to work, except that I have to manually create a 'local settings\temp' directory - even though it is in the default profile.

When I log out of this (or any) profile or reboot it goes back to the resetting thing - e.g if you reset your home page in IE then close IE, next time you open it it is back to the MSN homepage, the same with explorer settings. Even worse the Exchange system manager and the exchange AD plug-in won't load (Win32 - System cannot find file specified - 0xc0070002).

This is beginning to really stop me from doing any of the things that need to be done to the server until I can figure it out.

Anyone have any ideas???

Hads.
