At the moment my company are doing a fair amount of server upgrades from NT4 and 2k to 2k3, the problem that i am encountering is the changing of the desktop profile the users are used to seeing. Basically are there any tools out there that will allow for the users to simply boot up with thier old profile rather than me having to go in manually and copy the old profile across to the new profile that has been created when joinging the pc to the new domain?

Any help would be apprecited.

The best way of preserving user settings like this is to do a domain migration rather than a reinstallation. Add a temporary server to the NT domain as a BDC, promote it to PDC, Upgrade to Windows 2000/3 then resinstall the old server as Windows 2000/3. Move the master roles across and licensing and there you go. All users retain their settings and profiles.
