I've got an XP Pro box which multiple users will be using. I had one user login and I configured her profile as it should be in terms of appearance, start menu items, etc. I'd like each user to have this same configuration upon their first logon. Here's what I did:
Went into My Computer, Properties, Advanced, User Profiles. Selected the currently logged in users profile and clicked "Copy To" then browsed to C:\documents and settings\all users" and pasted. This *almost* worked. Problem is with the Start Menu items. Many that were present under the *copied* profile are not present under the profile of new users as they login. Most, in fact, are gone! How can I remedy this and how *should* I have accomplished this task?
Another thing that did not copy over is the installed printers. What do I need to do to make it so that every user that logs into that box automatically has the printers installed?
