Processos Temperature question 1

Hi guys,

FIrst off..thanks for the help!

I have a Duron 1.2 ghz processor in my system and I was just wondering at what temperature should it be running at normally.. what is a good temp range, and what should I be looking out for?

An idle in the low 30's C and a max in the mid 40's C
Try checking for your max straight after 20 minutes in Unreal/Quake or better still something like mad onions 3D benchmark 2000 or 2001.
You won't see any instability problems untill the low 60's
AMD stated Max for the Duron is 90C but this is fry time!
You may benefit by fitting extra case fans to turn over the air in your system, this can have a dramatic effect on CPU temps often lowering them by 10-15C, most cases have at least two mounting points for extra 80mm fans, if heat is an issue then fitting extra fans is both cheap and effective! More case fans are a must for almost any PC nowadays. Try to get the 4-pin type(80mm) that attach directly to your PSU.

Also - if you have a case to suit, have one fan at the front pulling air in, and one at the back, pushing it out making for a good circulation.

Duron chips burn out even faster (as they run hotter) than athlons, so if your CPU fan fails........TURN OFF!!!!!! T3/\/\p()
