How do I enable Crystal Reports (v.7) to process user input that has been identified in a dhtml form in a web browser?

I need Crystal Reports to interpret the information identified (ie, client name, report number, etc) and access the relevant data.

Ideally I could just create one crystal report and use it as a template - where different information could be accessed depending on user input.

Is there a better way to do this? Should I upgrade to v.8.5?

You can build an ASP page with text boxes, drop-downs, etc., to get the information that you need to run the report. That part doesn't have anything to do with Crystal.

Then it's a matter of either a) replacing the entire SQL string of the Crystal Report b) replace the WHERE clause or c) passing parameter values to the report. Brian J. Alves
