Does anyone have a fix for the CTFMON.EXE process that is running on all my users. We manually end it currently but is there a way to stop it all together?

So how do I do this for 150+ users. Is there an easier fix.

Lakeside Software's SysTrack 3.1 provides an easier way to handle this situation. SysTrack monitors services and allows you to set up "actions/notifications" based upon specific conditions. In this case you would set up a profile that everytime the "CTFMON.EXE" process try's to run, it kills the executable.

Please contact me if I can provide you with any further information.

Good Luck!

The article mjbianco pointed to shows how to do this. Create the reg file and in the usrlogon.cmd add the line to import the file. You can also use a policy to do this. Create an administrative template with these registry keys and apply it to your users.

The MS q article descibes the problem.
If you remove the "alternate user input" from your office installation, the problem should be gone.
The point is; do you need this feature?

The article states that because the user IDs have already been created and have the registry key set to start the app you will need to remove the registry key. The only thing I see possible is renaming the file. This may result in warnings or unable to launch however.
