Is there a procudere for setting up a remote NBX business set and is a VPN required or can this be done from a SOHO with just a router.

Procedure to configutre NBX business set for remote office

You need an IP license on the NBX.
You manually configure the phone with a valid IP address for the remote subnet and tell it the IP address of the NBX. And it just works.
So long as the remote can communicate with the NBX a VPN is not required, however all the usual security/privacy caveats apply.
