Lately, I've been having problems with Word changing everything inside a document along with what I select. As an example...I have a three page document and decide to go in and change the font or font size, bold, etc. I first select what I want to change, change it and Word changes EVERYTHING in the document too. The only way I can change everything back except what I selected, is to hit the "undo" button. This is starting to happen on every document, new or existing that I work on.

Anyone have a clue as to what is happening?

Thanks much!

I believe something wrong with styles. Might be a good idea to rename (or delete) normal.dot and try again.

When you start a new doucment, check what style is being used. This will be on upper left side.

Thanks,XLhelp!!

I have added some new styles and I bet this is what's causing the problem.

Also, go "Format" "Style" and hit the "Modify" button, and see if the "Autmatically update" checkbox is checked. Ideally it needs to be unchecked
