I am having problems with my Sony Visual Communication Camera VCC-U01 that is attached to my laptop. If you look at the image in the link you can see what my problem is:

A few weeks ago this blank screen was not a problem and the camera worked fine. What do you think the problem is?

Thanks!

Well, it looks like either you have no Camera attached...

or the Cameras optic part is not working... ie. cap over the lense... or damaged...

or you may need to reinstall the drivers...

I can't actually find the drivers for this camera...

Are you able to try this camera on another machine to confirm that the camera is still working?

No, because it's attached and can't be removed.

If it is attached permanently and part of the laptop hardware that came with the machine then a repair install of XP may help you? What options does the laptop have for recovery?

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with the Webcam.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
