Hello.

We currently have two windows 2000 dc's and one NT 4.0 BDC for our domain (dc1, dc2 and bdc3). Recently i have been performing some group policy modifications (creating two and changing settings in the default domain policy). I performed this on dc1 which holds all the FSMO roles except infrastructure master which belongs to dc2. The group policy settings have been working fine for clients but an entry in the event log is appearing a lot.

It is generated by Userenv and has eventid of 1000. Its contents is;

The group policy client-side extension scripts were passed flags (16) and returned a failure status of of (3)

I have used this web site to try and fix it, but nothing directly relates to the error codes.

Using net helpmsg 3 i get "The system cannot find the path specified"

I am thinking a GPO is missing that the dc's are trying to apply?. The event appears once every (roughly) 90 mins which is the default refresh time for the policy so its not a domain controller policy issue. Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hello. Thanks for the link, i've checked the most relavent ones listed and none are specific to the error i am getting. I've checked that no user account refered to in a gpo has been deleted, and where they have the reference has been deleted. The last thing i am thinking is maybe its a missing/currupt scripts.ini file so i will look into that. Anyone else have any ideas?
