problems with table backgrounds

I'm new at Dreamweaver and I'm having problems getting my table background image to appear properly. I'll link to it the normal way through the property inspector, and in Dreamweaver it will show up fine. But when I preview it in a browser, any browser, the background doesn't show up.

Has anybody else run into this problem? Any tips on fixing it?

I would be eternally grateful!!! I'm banging my head against the wall with this program...

Have you uploaded the image to your server? Post the table code here to see if we can spot an obvious mistake, like the image source being c:\somefolder.etc. or file://somefolder etc
