Hi, I've got Windows ME, and it doesn't recognise the sound device. The problem is I've got a motherboard MS 6340 with integrated audio device. Are there any drivers, or shall I flash the bios?
Thanks
MS 6340? Who makes it, have you gone to their website for drivers, assuming you don't have the cd that came with it? No need to flash anything, you'll just risk a dead mainboard. You simply need to install the drivers.
By the way, does the device appear in device manager, even if its listed with a yellow exclamation mark? If not, make sure its enabled in the CMOS setup. If it is, then yes, just need to find the drivers.
Matt J.
Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
I agree with Rozza most boards that have integrated audio you can go to their website to download the drives. Some even have utilities that auto-detect your type of motherboard. good luck!
