Problems with SMTP Server

Server is not sending email.

We have opened port 25. The Email comes from website application (.NET) on different virtual IP. In the client program I have enetered IP address of the virtual server. SMTP is configured for all IP addreses...

Any idea??

Have your verified that the service SMTP service is running?

Yes, of course it is running. However got error message while trying to stop SMTP in IIS: RDPC Server not avaialable or soemthing similar...

Do I need to open port 53 for UDP and TCP? somebody suggested, but I do not have DNS server on this box. Do I need to create DNS server? If yes, how do i do it? I use exsiting DNS server on other machine to resolve lookup...
