Hello,
I just installed Windows 2000 Professional and have a problem. When I go to "Start Menu - Search - For Files or Folders" The search window opens fine. The problem is after a few seconds an installer window pops up that states " The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or other removable disk that is not available. Please insert the Microsoft Office 2000 Professional disk and click ok."
I'm using Office 2000 Premium and when I point it to the file it states that that file isn't valid. I'm lost, Why would it need anything from Microsoft Office to Search for files? How do I disable it? Any help would be more than appreciated.

Thanks,

A. Davis

That was a big help. I know that's what it needs but I don't know why. I dont have that CD although I have Office Premium and that doesn't seem to work for it.

why the heck u using the office cd, what makes u think thats gonna work. maybe it'll work after 20 times right? get the win2kcd borrow it from somebody your comp is licensed so you'll be alright. make sure u copy the i386 folder to your hard drive so u don't need to use the cd Thanks, PAUL

Hello,
I installed the new installer but still have the same problem, Any Ideas?

Thanks

Paul,
It's not asking for the Windows Cd, It's Asking for the Office 2000 Professional Cd which I haven't installed. I installed Office 2000 Premium before I upgraded to Windows 2000. It's asking for the data1.msi file which I loaded but it didn't work. The data1.msi file is in my Office 2000 Premium folder and not in Windows.

oh ok sorry whats your email i'll email it to u
Thanks, PAUL
