Problems with remote assistance

I wish to use REMOTE ASSISTANCE to support users in our office but I am having problems with some desktops. As you know, Remote Assistance should NOT log out the user, rather, it should allow you to view the users session.
But when I try to use Remote Assistance to view users' session on some machines it behaves like a REMOTE DESKTOP session which logs out the user.

Any ideas why this should be happening?

Sometimes it's hard to quit banging your head on a wall...VNC is free, and easy. No, the user can't request assistance via VNC, perhaps they can via phone?

I find VNCScan is a usefull tool (I do not have any affilation with VNCScan!)

How about Messenger? IIRC, you can request Remote Assistance via Messenger, have you tried that?
