I have a computer that, when I boot it up, it powers up just fine, hard drives whirl etc. But it has no video. I've tried two different monitors, and I have tried a different (working) video card. It has to sdram memory chips, which I removed and rebooted, replaced, rebooted (for each chip). I have detached all devices (CD-rom/Hard drives, etc.) seperately and all together and rebooted, and still no video. Any suggestions? Is it possible that there is a problem in the processor?

TIA

Is the card selected properly in the bios? You have to set wether it is PCI or an AGP for primary video. Any onboard video has to be disabled as well if you are using a card.

What rockerfellerz is right but also can be cpu, memory or mobo. Does the harddisk noise for long or just for a few seconds?

You might try reseating your processor too. I have seen that cause problems. Also, be sure there is nothing grounding anywhere on the board or on a card.
