Hi Guys,

I am having a problem on two phones, when a message is left in audix(intuity) the message waiting led does not light up.

I have tried the basics ie checked to make sure the Message Lamp ext is correct, changed phone. it only seems to be two phones which are affected all the other phones work as they should.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

- Dave.

First thing to do is compare station programming with a station that works.

Check four spots on the station forms.
the message waiting lamp extension #
the led or neon setting(do not use neon unless a neon circuit pack is installed in your system or your system will alarm like crazy)
the LWC notification
the LWC activation(not really but check it anyway)

compare notes

Make sure the programming on the station form in question is the same as others that work.

If that does not solve your problem them check the class of service on your mailbox and make sure it is the same as the others subscribers. Make sure the community and the switch ID on the voicemail subscriber form is set to the correct system or node.

On the switch, add an "aut-msg-wt" button on your phone for the station in question and send that subscriber a message. If that button on your phone lights up, then it is a station or switch problem. If it does not light up, then it is a voice mail problem.

Last us "status station" to see what the message waiting indication is telling you. Is it on or off. (spe, audix or nothing)

Hope that helps.

You can also try the following commands in AUDIX:

audit names
audit switch-names (this can take some time)

Both commands will check the link between PBX and Audix for each voicemail subscriber. I have the same problem from time to time and those commands are the first that I run.

Hope this helps,
Erik.

We have three switch tied together. Usally when this happens to me the Switch Number field on the audix subscriber form is incorrectly set.

I agree with VLG711. This happens a lot when the switch number field is not set correctly. I can't remember which screen it's on (I'm at home now). It's either the audix subscriber screen or the station screen in the PBX, but in my case it needs to say "Audix1" and "Server1". Carefully compare the screens with one that is working as suggested.

If the phone is at a remote switch, you may want to make sure that the administered-TSC in the signaling group is still activce. If you do not have priviliges to status a TSC, you will have to have Denver do it for you.

Thanks for all your help !!

I tried almost everything but still did not get it to work.

In the end I removed both the phones and their Voicemail boxes, added them again and they both started working, strange but true.

Perhaps it was something in the translations, I don't know but thanks again for all your help.

I have had this problem before, but it is normaly that the "switch number" field on the Audix subscriber form was set incorrectly.

We have had the same problem on our Military Installation and the problem ended up being the this particular phone ext was being supported via a fiber isolator - (Sent from point to point over fiber) and the flashing light for audix would not make it to the phone. It seems that audix led can only travel over copper. Hope this is helpful to some.
